Watching Over the Waters of the San Diego Region
The Speaker Program:
The talk will give an overview of water quality regulations and monitoring in the San Diego Region. It will touch upon what is monitored, how, where, and why, with a focus on local stream health and fish tissue monitoring.
Chad's Background
Chad Loflen manages the water monitoring efforts at the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control board which is part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. His team monitors the quality of our streams, bays, estuaries and beaches from South Orange County to the Tijuana river.

Chad is an avid fisherman. He and his family help with our Golden Trout project every summer and he voluntarily performs a bioassessment in the meadow every 5 years to evaluate the effects of our work.
